The real reason why Aqualad quit the Teen Titans.
This is a horrible, horrible little one-shot comic I did a while back for a chuckle. It even has the obligatory double-entendre pun of Robin’s name. Ah!
It was based on the feelings I ended up getting from reading pretty much every Teen Titans comic ever: Aqualad don’t get no respect.
I was kind of happy to see that in the cartoon, they made Aqualad a strongly-loved, popular character. I used to love him in the comics, but unfortunately the sidekicks never fared well as the 60s pressed on and the 70s replaced them. Aqualad was one of the most regrettable, going from being a competent, interesting hero to being constantly insecure about his abilities, and for no good reason.
